Police are searching for a suspect after a Vanderbilt student reported a man tried to abduct her over the weekend as she walked along Music Row. According to information from Vanderbilt University Police Department, a student reported that about 9 p.m. Saturday, she was walking east on Grand Avenue near 21st Avenue South when a man appeared from a parking lot between 19th Avenue South and 18th Avenue South. The student told police the man yelled to her, “Come here, I want to talk to you.” She ignored the man, police reported, and continued walking east. The man then ran towards her and lifted her off the ground, the student reported. She told police she began screaming and fighting and was able to break free and run from the area.
