Nationals shortstop Trea Turner was removed in the first inning of Tuesday's game against Philadelphia due to a positive COVID-19 test, the team announced.
Turner, who has increasingly been in trade rumors ahead of MLB's trade deadline at 4 p.m. on Friday, immediately went down the team tunnel after scoring on Josh Bell's three-run homer.
Gerardo Parra came in to left field to replace Turner at the bottom of the first, as Alcides Escobar slid over to Turner's shortstop position and Josh Harrison went to second base.
