The Supreme Court has ordered an enquiry into an allegation that the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) delivered an order without following the top court's directions. The order relates to the annual general meeting of Finolex Cables and a legal dispute over the management control of the company. The NCLAT was directed by the Supreme Court to declare the results of the meeting only after receiving the scrutiniser's report. However, the NCLAT pronounced the order before the report was uploaded, leading to accusations of defiance of the Supreme Court's order. The NCLAT chairperson has been instructed to conduct an enquiry and submit a report by Monday.
