BMC office MUMBAI: After deputy CM Ajit Pawar scrapped a controversial decision to pay a private agency Rs 6 crore to handle his social media accounts over high costs, netas are urging the BMC to review its spending of close to Rs 2 crore a year for handling its social accounts, especially its 34 Twitter accounts. MLAs and corporators from across parties alleged that there was no technical analysis to gauge the reach and impact of @mybmc and the 33 other Twitter handles, many of which are not verified (see graphic). They want the new tender process to be fast-tracked and a new agency to be appointed.
