Posted on On April 6, the Nevada Senate Legislative Operations & Elections Committee passed SB 292. However, it amended the bill so that it no longer increases the number of signatures needed for a new or previously unqualified party. It is not yet clear if the bill changes the procedures for new parties at all. It is possible the amended bill now requires that the 1% be met in all four U.S. House districts, and it is possible the bill moves the deadline from mid-June to June 1. When the amendment is posted on the legislature’s website, this post will be updated. However, that might not be for a day or so.
