Rachel Thompson, a young attorney from Ambler, so impressed Chief Judge Juan Sanchez of the United States District Court for Eastern Pennsylvania when she clerked for him, that he said he was pleased when Bucks County Solicitor Joseph Khan asked about hiring her as an assistant county solicitor. Sanchez said he was "delighted" to be given the honor to swear her into her new role working for Bucks County during the county commissioners reorganization meeting Monday at which county Commissioner Chairwoman Diane Ellis-Marseglia was reappointed as chair of the board by Commissioners Bob Harvie and Gene DiGirolamo. Thompson, 26, is a graduate of Villanova Law School. An Ambler native, she plans to move to Doylestown for her new position, which will involve representing the county in cases involving health, human service and employment issues.
