Almahri had been charged with four counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and second-degree assault. The District Attorney's Office said Almahri had a blood alcohol content of .21%, more than twice the legal driving limit of .08%, at the time of the crash. Almahri was accused of driving about 50 mph in a 30 mph zone on Henry W. DuBois Road around 10:30 that night and blowing through several stop signs and rear-ending a 2012 Toyota Scion that was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with North Oakwood Terrace. His 2008 Volvo then veered into an embankment and overturned. Randazzo, who was in the backseat, was killed. Two other passengers in Almahri's car, as well as the driver whose car was rear-ended, had surgeries to treat severe injuries, the District Attorney's Office said.
