New playground hopes to provide fun for more students Unmute "It actually kind of just got put in our laps." Amy Brown, Director of Special Programs for the Charleston School District, says the solution to a long term problem, came suddenly this past December. "We've been wanting for a long time to provide new equipment for the kids, but the funding just wasn't there." She says a school board member notified her of a local organization that was willing to help pay for a new and more accessible playground. "Disabilities Without Boundaries, but they are established by Senate Bill 40 to provide funds and assistance for those with developmental disabilities in the county."
