Dec 30, 2020 HARRISBURG â New price transparency rules mandated by a 2019 executive order from President Donald Trump that requires hospitals and health plans to disclose more clearly what they charge for medical care take effect Friday. The hospital industry fought the rule, but the D.C. Circuit Court on Tuesday upheld a lower court ruling that had found that the new rules were legal. Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar hailed that decision as âa big win for American patients,â adding that because of the rule change, âAmericans will have access to the actual prices paid for the most common hospital services.â
