Work to build a new roundabout at Miles Cross will start next January - and take about half a year to complete. The new infrastructure to make the A35 junction at Symondsbury safer comes ahead of the building vast Vearse Farm housing development on the western edge of Bridport. A total of 760 homes are being built at the site. The development is expected to support more than 2,000 jobs and represents £6.5m of investment in the Bridport area. Bridport Town Council and Symondsbury Parish Council have established a stakeholder group to liaise with developers. The Vearse Farm Working Group includes a range of local organisations, and at a meeting this month they were introduced to the developers of housing and other infrastructure at the site, Vistry Partnerships and Barratt & David Wilson Homes.
