A new COVID-19 vaccination hub will open at the Wyndham council civic centre in Werribee from Thursday. Mayor Adele Hegedich said the hub, to be operated by Western Health, “was a first of its kind” for local government in Victoria. “We’re proud to be partnering with the state government to see our community vaccinated against COVID-19,” Cr Hegedich said. “As part of this partnership, we’ll see the functions area of the Wyndham City Council civic centre transformed into a vaccination hub three days a week, from 8.30am to 4pm, to support the rollout of the COVID-19 vaccine. “Residents who are eligible to be vaccinated no longer need to travel to the Sunshine Hospital, and can now book via the Victorian online COVID-19 vaccine booking system or the COVID-19 hotline to secure an appointment.”
