The proposal to allow high school student-athletes in New York to profit from their name, image and likeness came up this week at New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s (NYSPHSAA) annual committee meeting held in the Catskills. It would revise the current amateur rule which prohibits high school athletes from capitalizing on their athletic status or notoriety. The vote by the Executive Committee will take place on October 20, 2021.
