Newark and District U3A's activities continue throughout lockdown | Updated: 16:09, 11 March 2021 A group that aims to bring retired and semi-retired people together hasnât stopped just because of lockdown Ââ in fact, its members are keen to keep dancing, writes Elliot Ball. Newark and District U3A has used the coronavirus pandemic as more of a reason to keep in touch with each other â particularly because people may be feeling lonely. One way the group has been keeping active is through a virtual ballroom dance class â held every Wednesday online via Zoom â where members can learn anything from the waltz, rumba and cha-cha to the foxtrot and jive.
