Newark: Halam stabbing: Colleagues of retired surgeon Graeme Perks speak out following break-in at his home last week | Updated: 16:46, 18 January 2021 Parts of the medical community have spoken out after a highly-regarded retired surgeon was stabbed during a break-in at his home in Halam last week. 65-year-old Graeme Perks is continuing to receive hospital treatment after the alleged attack on January 14 in which he suffered puncture wounds to his abdomen and chest. Dr Perks was head of the Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Burns Surgery at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust from 2011 to 2016. He has also been a president of The British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
