Newark man calls on Newark and Sherwood District Council to practise what it preaches after cycle path was blocked

A man has said the district council must practice what it preaches after a cycle path in Newark was blocked.
Tony Ayres, of Newark, said he noticed the access to the cycle path on Bowbridge Road was blocked when walking by.

He said with Newark and Sherwood District Council promoting a greener and cleaner future, it should have ensured cyclists were made aware and arranged another route.
Mr Ayres said: “I appreciate you cannot have people walking or cycling down a path if there is construction going on, but you would have thought they would have provided something else like an alternative route.
