Friday Oregon Surpassed 100,000 COVID Infections, 1,390 Reported Friday Oregon crossed another threshold since COVID-19 was first detected in February, with more than 100,000 cases diagnosed. The Oregon Health Authority reported 1,390 new confirmed and presumptive cases reported yesterday, along with 21 more fatalities. The total number of Oregon cases reported since the beginning of the pandemic now stands at 100,308, with the statewide death total now at 1,306. 76 new cases were reported in Jackson County raising their total case count to 5,207. Douglas County had 14 new cases yesterday. The OHA reported 30 new cases in Josephine County Friday taking our total count to 937 confirmed and presumptive cases. The official word we received from Josephine Public Health Friday was 16 county fatalities. Two more confirmed deaths from COVID-19 complications were reported Saturday morning. A 60-year-old woman and a 94-year-old woman passed away Thursday, December 17th , becoming the 17th and 18th local fatalities.
