Kane used prefabricated off-site construction to deliver the contract at Southbank Place. The development is made up of 301 apartments - of which 203 are described as luxury, 46 are to be affordable, while 52 will be assisted living apartments. The company this week posted a turnover of £44.5m in its latest financial results. The firm said it had finished the 30-month contract on time using its in-house design and prefabrication facility. Work included the prefabrication of 398 utility pods of 47 different varieties, which the firm said saved around one week of manual labour per apartment. Kane also worked on the site's prefabricated water systems, commercial sprinklers, refuge chutes and more "allowing for a more efficient installation period".
