As the year draws to a close, the Journal Inquirer has compiled a list of the Top 10 Stories of 2020. This is the next in that series, which concludes on Dec. 31. One of the worst tropical storms â Isaias â tore through Connecticut in early August, leaving one dead and more than 600,000 people without power for days on end, prompting a review of what many called an inadequate response by Eversource Energy, the stateâs major utility company, and ultimately action by the state legislature and the governor. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, Isaias made landfall in North Carolina as a hurricane before charging up the East Coast and slamming into Connecticut as a tropical storm.
