Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba (pic) said the government had taken a "whole of government approach" which involves the Health Ministry; Foreign Ministry; Communications and Multimedia Ministry; Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry and the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply (JKJAV). "Based on our discussions with the manufacturers, almost all of them will only deal with governments for the time being," he said in an interview with Utusan Malaysia. He said the government had also never stopped the private sector from procuring vaccines from any manufacturer. Dr Adham was responding to claims by the Malaysian Muslim Doctors Association (Perdim) that the government was monopolising vaccine purchases without involving the private sector and this was among the reasons for the country's slow supply.
