Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) said that its Northern Area Command received a report of the fire at around 3:35am on Sunday, adding that a fire team was dispatched there. The fire was controlled by 5:25am. MNDF said that the fire broke out inside a warehouse located at the resort’s powerhouse, adding that it led to an island-wide electricity cut.
