Justin Richard Burke, 33, had denied killing Shayne George Heappey, 25, during a brutal attack where he was stabbed and cut 14 times in December 2018. But after a two-week trial at the High Court in Christchurch last November where he was cleared of murder, a jury found Burke guilty on a charge of manslaughter.
