BARNSTABLE — A North Carolina man was held without bail Thursday in Barnstable Superior Court in connection with the killing of Damian Anderson in July in Mashpee. Christopher Strickland, 33, was arraigned in February on a charge of first-degree murder in the shooting of Anderson, a New Bedford resident. Strickland also was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a Firearms Identification Card card, discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, improper storage of a firearm, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit murder. On Feb. 22, Norman Dias, of Mashpee, also was charged with murder in Barnstable Superior Court in connection with Anderson's death.
