Northampton program to aid those facing evictions

NORTHAMPTON — Across the state, more than 16,000 people are facing eviction and have a case filed against them in either district, municipal or housing court, according to the Massachusetts Trial Court Department of Research and Planning. 
Northampton renters facing eviction can apply for up to $2,200 to pay for rental and utility arrears through a city program run by Community Action Pioneer Valley and funded with Community Development Block Grant money.
