Updated: 3:20 PM EDT May 8, 2021 For the second weekend in a row, Fenway Park is hosting college graduation ceremonies.Northeastern University, which is located in Boston, held two of its four scheduled commencement ceremonies at America's Most Beloved Ballpark on Saturday.The school announced that more than 1,500 undergraduate students attended the first commencement at 9 a.m., while another 1,500 or so undergraduates had their ceremony at 2 p.m.Each student was allowed to bring one guest in order to comply with state-mandated gathering limits, as a stage and chairs were set up in center field.Massachusetts Gov. Charlie Baker, Boston Mayor Kim Janey, U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention director Dr. Rochelle Walensky and Impossible Foods CEO Pat Brown addressed the graduates virtually.Two commencement ceremonies for Northeastern graduate students are scheduled for Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.All Northeastern graduates were able to participate in other celebrations during the week, including a mile-long processional route through campus and a virtual celebration.Last weekend, Fenway Park hosted a graduation doubleheader for Bentley University on Saturday and two commencement ceremonies for Emerson College on Sunday.On May 22, Suffolk University is scheduled to hold three different Class of 2021 graduation ceremonies throughout the day.Throughout the month of June, Fenway Park will host commencement ceremonies for 15 of the Boston Public Schools' graduating high school classes, including nearby Fenway Academy and Boston Latin.
