SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – The Northwestern Health Unit reported three new COVID-19 cases Sunday, involving individuals in its Rainy River and Kenora regions. The health unit reported one new confirmed case in the Kenora region and two in the Rainy River District, which has reported a recent surge of cases. The region accounted for 24 of the health unit’s 28 active cases as of Friday, the last time the agency updated its public data. Both regions encompass over a dozen communities; a full list is available on the NWHU website. “For reasons of privacy, NWHU minimizes sharing the information about the location of COVID-19 test results,” the health unit reiterated on Facebook as it announced the new cases.
