NSW COVID cases: Gladys Berejiklian backtracks on July 16 Sy

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has backtracked on her firm commitment that Sydney’s lockdown would end on Friday, July 16 after the state recorded its highest daily COVID-19 caseload during the current outbreak.
Ms Berejiklian said the state was “still aiming” to end the lockdown next week, but said that was “dependent on all of us doing the right thing” after the state reported 38 new COVID-19 cases overnight.
The NSW Premier had previously said it was “absolutely” the government’s intention to end the extended lockdown on July 16 at midnight.
NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian won’t commit to the scheduled July 16 lockdown end date.
