Save Share NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has backtracked on her firm commitment that Sydneyâs lockdown would end on Friday, July 16 after the state recorded its highest daily COVID-19 caseload during the current outbreak. Ms Berejiklian said the state was âstill aimingâ to end the lockdown next week, but said that was âdependent on all of us doing the right thingâ after the state reported 38 new COVID-19 cases overnight. The NSW Premier had previously said it was âabsolutelyâ the governmentâs intention to end the extended lockdown on July 16 at midnight.
