Number of benefit claimants in West Worcestershire has fallen, but still higher than last year

UNEMPLOYMENT in Mid Worcestershire has fallen, but is still higher than it was a year ago.
In Mid Worcestershire, which includes Evesham, there were 2,770 people claiming out of work benefits in April.
This is down from 2,865 the month before and works out as 4.5 per cent of the population.
In April 2020, there were 2,590 people claiming out of work benefits.
According to the latest Office of National Statistics (ONS) figures, there were 3,710 people in Worcester claiming out of work benefits in April.
This is a slight decrease from March, when there were 3,770 people.
