SunStar File photo January 15, 2021 DESPITE the increase in the number of Covid-19 cases in Mandaue City, the City Government will not use some public schools in the city as quarantine facilities. The city will also stick to its game plan in fighting Covid-19 and the B.1.1.7. Sars-CoV-2 variant (UK variant), which was already detected in the country. Based on the Department of Health (DOH)-Central Visayas bulletin on January 14, 2021, Mandaue City has 95 active Covid-19 cases, an increase from 89 active cases last January 13. Mayor Jonas Cortes’s executive secretary John Eddu Ibañez said there is still no need to reactivate the use of some public schools.
