The economic crisis we are facing is unlike any we have seen in modern times. The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has predicted that by the end of 2021 the UK economy will be six per cent smaller than before the Covid health crisis. Despite this dark economic situation in which we find ourselves, there is a ray of light and that light comes from businesses which seek to drive forward the economy through investment and expansion. There is a significant number of enquiries from employers who are looking to be located close to Oxford and Cherwell District. These employers would bring forward highly valuable, multi-skilled employment opportunities, but this growth is being frustrated by Local Plans which are simply not responsive to facilitate new development under our changed economic circumstances.
