Ocean rescue of the past and present celebrated with $1.4m c

The Hohapata - Sealord Rescue is a state-of-the art 11.3m Naiad, significantly larger than the previous vessel the Talley’s Marine Rescue, with a dedicated triage bay, and a top speed of 40 knots.
“It took a lot of doing, and a lot of soul-searching to get this under way ... this thing has been built with a sense of pride and mana,” Kara said.
He said the name, and the story behind it, was one that “resonates with what our mission is, and that is saving people at sea”.
