LANCASTER - The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced the 2021 construction schedule for projects in Fairfield County. With eight total projects, four are located in Lancaster, with the remainder in various areas across the county. Half of the projects are resurfacing projects, and one project involves adding a traffic light at a major intersection. Morgan Overbey, a spokeswoman for ODOT's fifth district, said the resurfacing projects across the county should start again once the asphalt plants begin their yearly production. Drivers can expect work to start in mid-May. Work on Ohio 664 between US 22 and Ohio 256 is expected to start in August. Around five miles of roadway will be repaved, along with slight improvements, costing around $1.5 million. There will be lane restrictions throughout the project, but the road won't be fully closed. The work is estimated to be completed by mid-October.
