Beth Nakamura/The Oregonian Facebook Share Four months after he fatally shot a man in a pickup truck after responding to a disturbance, former Tigard police Officer Gabriel Maldonado started a new job with Port of Portland police. Maldonado resigned from the Tigard department April 15 and started at the port on April 19, Tigard police spokesperson Kelsey Anderson confirmed to The Oregonian/OregonLive. He had been placed on paid administrative leave, a standard policy after officer-involved shootings, on Jan. 6, the day he shot Jacob MacDuff.
