Ogun community accuses power firm of exploitation, poor supply

Residents of Magboro community in the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State have accused the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company of burdening them with estimated bills despite epileptic power supply.
The residents, during a protest held on Saturday, accused the company of introducing a load shedding plan, which they described as arbitrary.
The protesters, who alleged that they bought all the materials used to power the community, accused IBEDC of serving them exorbitant bills despite epileptic power supply.
The Vice-Chairman of the Electricity Committee in the community, Victor Odigie, told our correspondents that despite informing the firm of a meeting with officials on Saturday, it deployed security agents against them to avoid discussing with the residents.
