Students in middle and high schools across the Birmingham Public Schools will still see one day of virtual learning when they return to the classroom for in-person instruction. The district's board of education voted 6-1 during a meeting held virtually March 9 on the return to face-to-face instruction plan for students across the district. That plan calls for five-day-a-week of in-person instruction for elementary students and four days a week of in-person instruction for middle school and high school students. The fifth day would consist of virtual learning for older students, which would be livestreamed and done together with students who are just learning online.
