Olmsted Medical Center to Begin Vaccinations on Friday Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The COVID-19 vaccination process is being sped up in southeastern Minnesota. The Olmsted Medical Center has announced it will begin administering the new Pfizer vaccine to its frontline healthcare personnel tomorrow morning. The Minnesota Department of Health had previously stated that the vaccinations would begin on Monday to allow for extensive training and preparations but OMC says state health officials and the Southeast Minnesota Disaster Health Coalition have granted healthcare facilities in this region to begin the vaccinations on Friday. The Olmsted Medical Center says the first employee to receive the vaccine tomorrow morning at 11 AM will be an emergency department nurse. The others at the front of the line include an emergency room physician, nursing staff from other units with direct exposure to the virus, a housekeeper, and a custodian.
