On Stage—Chuck Lamb celebrates Brubeck at Vail Square Share KUVO’s performance series “On Stage” kicks off its summer series of broadcasts recorded at Vail Square with a celebration of Dave Brubeck by pianist Chuck Lamb. Chuck Lamb comes by his affection for the “Brubeck sound” honestly. His tribute album (“Lambinizations II: A Tribute to Dave Brubeck,” 2011) won accolades from Brubeck himself. The New York native has handled the 88s for the Brubeck Brothers Quartet since 2002. Earlier, Lamb is noted for his seminal work with the breakthrough fusion band Dry Jack. He’s played with symphonies and major jazz artists including Ray Charles, Bela Fleck, Peter Frampton, Richie Cole, Ernestine Anderson and more!
