Mrs Brand, who was 86, died in Hereford Hospital. She had been in hospital for several weeks and it is believed that she caught Covid. For many years a health campaigner and Advertiser columnist, Mrs Brand first came to know Ludlow as a child and although she lived most of her working life in London and the south east, she returned to live in retirement in Ludlow and threw herself into the life of the town. Mrs Brand had three children, two sons and a daughter, her daughter Jo achieved fame as a comedienne. One of her sons, who lived in Germany, died several years ago.
