West Virginia is no stranger to natural disasters like rockslides and flooding, but tornadoes are a much more rare occurrence in the Mountain State. Yet, one of the deadliest tornadoes in U.S. history, and the deadliest in West Virginia history, hit Shinnston almost 80 years ago.
