Gov. Brian Kemp is easing COVID-19 restrictions for restaurants and bars. WJCL spoke to one business owner who says this might do more harm for them than good. “I think it’s premature,” business owner Kathryn Williams said.Williams co-owns North Beach Bar and Grill. She admits things have been tough, but says the governor is moving too fast. “Georgia just now has the ability to vaccinate everyone over the age of 16. We need to have people vaccinated before opening the floodgates,” Williams said. The inside of their restaurant is normally full. But they continue to take precautions. However, they fear this may new order could make it tougher to do just that.“You will have some folks that will develop an attitude. Because they know that there’s no governmental restrictions, they want to challenge the restrictions individuals put into place,” Williams said. And that could cause a bigger issue.“We have to be careful. If we don’t protect our staff and someone gets infected, we have to shut our whole business down. We just can’t take that risk,” Williams said.
