PORTLAND, Ore. — Oregon's top federal prosecutor will step down at the end of February, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the District of Oregon announced on Friday.
U.S. Attorney Billy J. Williams was a Trump administration appointee, nominated in November of 2017 and confirmed by the Senate in March of 2018. The Oregonian/OregonLive reports that Williams' resignation comes at the request of the Biden administration, and reflects a widespread changing of the guard at the Department of Justice.
