By: News 9, News On 6 Oklahoma Sate University President Burns Hargis will announce a change of leadership in the athletic department on Friday. According to the university, President Hargis will present a leadership transition to the OSU athletics department at a university Board of Regents meeting. Hargis will recommend Mike Holder be appointed as athletic director emeritus and Chad Weiberg as athletic director, both effective July 1, 2020. Weiberg, a graduate of the university, was hired in 2017 and worked as the athletic department's deputy director and served as chief operating officer and served as the department's chief operating officer. According to the university, President Hargis will note that Mike Holder's continued involvement in the athletics department is a vital part of the transition. Holder has worked for the university for 16 years.
