Ottawa County notes: Operational millages set, more : vimars

WEST OLIVE — During the Tuesday, June 8, board meeting, Ottawa County commissioners voted to approve slight adjustments to operational millage rates for 2022. 
Millage rates are marginal tax rates assessed on county properties, based on value, which are used to pay for county services. 
On Tuesday, the county board approved the following millage rates:
3.9 mills for operational purposes
0.4822 mills for road improvement
0.4243 mills for emergency-911 
0.2892 mills for Community Mental Health services
The total millage rate will be 5.4156 mills, down slightly from 5.4317 mills last year. 
County Administrator Al Vanderberg said increasing property values throughout Ottawa County will likely offset the .0161 decrease in the total millage rate.
