Author: WLTX Updated: 7:22 PM EST January 27, 2021 KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — The Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) has confirmed that an otter in Kershaw County has tested positive for rabies. According to DHEC, an otter found near Trantham Road and Longtown Road in Ridgeway, South Carolina, has tested positive for rabies and exposed one person. Two dogs were also exposed and will be quarantined as required in the South Carolina Rabies Act.
