Photos courtesy of Paul Park As we reflect on the violence against Asian Americans that has come to light in recent weeks, it’s crucial to understand historical context—including how that context affects the present, and how bold new action is required to change the future. “There’s a lot of reasons why that [violence] is happening. I think one of them is a misunderstanding of who we are, and our important role in the history of this country as fellow Americans,” said Dr. Paul Park, a director at PIH and the son of Korean immigrants.
