Over 70k cases of footpath parking booked; citizens demand strict action

Bengaluru this year has recorded the second highest number of deaths in road accidents in the country after Delhi. According to the latest data released by National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), the city accounted for 3,822 road accidents in a year which makes 5.8 percent of the total accidents recorded in India while Delhi accounted for 8.1 percent of cases. Data shows that the city recorded the highest number of pedestrian deaths in the country with 247 deaths and 822 pedestrian injuries.
