Courtesy-Lynne Fleming COLUMBUS, Ind. – Overnight snowfall Monday into Tuesday morning has created hazardous driving conditions and closed several area schools on Tuesday, including Bartholomew Consolidated and Flat Rock-Hawcreek School Corporations. The National Weather Service announced a Winter Weather Advisory, from Monday at 4 p.m. to Tuesday at 7 a.m., for much of central and south-central Indiana. One local resident showed over five inches of snow accumulation in the overnight hours. Due to the snowfall, law enforcement and emergency personnel are encouraging drivers to use caution while behind the wheel. Bartholomew County Sheriff Matt Myers was up and out early Tuesday morning patrolling the snow-covered roads, and he advised residents, “stay home unless you have to get out.”
