Oxford Street redevelopment plans announced Plans to revive the Oxford Street area include a temporary 25-metre-high visitor attraction. The project aims to revitalise the Oxford Circus, Bond Street, Marble Arch and East Oxford Street areas. Westminster council has committed £150m of funding to the programme. Over the next few weeks work will begin on a range of proposed interim improvements to help attract visitors to the area post-lockdown. This includes the delivery of additional pedestrian space and pop-up parks. The project has proposed a temporary visitor attraction, The Marble Arch Hill, a 25-metre grass-covered mound in a bid to attract up to 200,000 visitors back to the district.
