Pa. GOP aligns with Trump in rebuke of Toomey, censure of Wolf and Dems Pennsylvania State Capital Bureau The Republican Party of Pennsylvania late Monday night narrowly voted to rebuke U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey for his choice to impeach former President Donald Trump, but they did not censure him. Instead, they censured four Democrats for their handling of the coronavirus and the presidential election, giving credence to Trump's unproven claims that the Pennsylvania election was unfair and fraudulent. A rebuke or censure has no formal effect. It merely shows disapproval. In this case, it's less effective because Toomey is not running for reelection. He's retiring at the end of his term because of a self-imposed, two-term limit.
