SEVIERVILLE — Sarah Romine acknowledged she’d shot another woman as soon as police detained her outside Soaky Mountain Waterpark Saturday, according to the incident report from that night.
Romine, 31, of Knoxville, “stated multiple times that she was very sorry and that she had shot another female,” Officer Kyle Hager said in the incident report.
Hager and other officers eventually concluded that Romine fatally shot 24-year-old Kelsey Cook, of Knoxville according to the report.
Hager and two other officers were nearby at Wilderness Resort to investigate a theft call shortly after 8:15 p.m. Saturday, when they heard Wilderness security talking about an incident in the Soaky Mountain parking lot.
