Crossings at Lamonta and North Main to be taken out of exempt status by June 1. The crossings have been exempt since 2006.
New businesses planning to set up shop in the former Woodgrain Millwork site has prompted city officials to reopen some old rail crossings.
The Prineville Campus, which is leasing industrial business space on the vacated wood products site, will soon be home to some new businesses that need rail access. So, the City of Prineville Railway will be reopening and upgrading a 3,800-foot section of track that stretches from Lamonta Road to the campus on the corner of North Main Street and Peters Road.
